Misc. Media has been formed by myself and private investors to bring the finest in regional popcult and PoMo lit to a bookshelf in your home. First to arrive will be The Big Book of Misc., due out the second week in June as an ultra-limited first edition. Our loyal online readers will get first crack at pre-ordering their own copies, perhaps as early as mid-May.
That will be followed by the updated second edition of LOSER: The Real Seattle Music Story. Current ETA: October 1999.
Future books will follow, by myself and others (we're not accepting unsolicited manuscripts just yet). There might also be a revival of the print Misc. newsletter.
I've written two screenplay proposals. One is Eat
Cafe, a pilot script for a punk sitcom set in a small town.
I've also shot three pilots for proposed local and/or syndicated TV series (not cable access!) series. One of these proposals, tentatively titled Clark's Observation Deck, was planned as an intimate low-key show designed for a young audience increasingly tired of being screamed at. It would feature guests from the local art, music, theater and filmmaking scenes. Another, Misc. America, was to be a weekly travelogue to America's funnest tourist traps and roadside attractions; that project went on hold when the producer had to take things easier during a difficult pregnancy (both mama and kid are doing fine now).
