Can’t get enough of that old-time Seattle?
The powers-that-be at Arcadia Publishing, bowing to the deities of brand extension, took some of the images I gathered for Vanishing Seattle and created a lovely (if I do say so myself) set of 15 handsome sepia tone postcards. Get one set to keep for yourself, and another to write your friends with the message “Wish I Was Here.”
Vanishing Seattle calendars were also published for the years 2009 and 2010, but are now out of print. (No 2011 calendar was produced.)
Clark, you may be interested in hearing an audio file i’ve posted that is a 40 minute visit to the last new years sing-a-long at the organ bar inside the Dog House. 1994. To me it defines an era of downtown living that is now gone. It’s on the soundscapes page at my website.
