MISCmedia's server subcontractor, Speakeasy.net, uses your IP address to help diagnose problems with the server and to administer the site. This address is not given to other entities. We do not use it to send unsolicited emails or other materials.

Our server contractor may also use cookies. MISCmedia has no access to information gathered from any such cookies.

We use a "counter" service, TheCounter.com, to supply aggragated statistics about the site's use. This includes information about operating systems, browsers, search-engine leads, the days and times of heaviest usage, etc. The "counter" service neither supplies nor keeps information about any individual user.

Advertisers

We use outside ad companies to display ads on our site. These ads may contain cookies. Cookies received with banner ads are collected by our ad company, and we do not have access to this information.

Personal Information

MISCmedia solicits users' email addresses for its promotional mailing list, and occasionally runs user surveys. Mailing-list members' names and addresses are not shared with third parties, and are not included in the texts of mailing-list announcements. Each mailing-list announcement includes instructions for users to be removed from the list. All user surveys are anonymous.

Online merchandise sales offered by MISCmedia are handled by e-commerce subcontractors, including Kagi.com and Amazon.com, using secure servers. MISCmedia does not have access to credit-card data collected by the subcontractors. For other privacy information concerning online sales, you may contact these subcontractors' own sites via the pages linked from the MISCmedia site.

Users have the option of purchasing MISCmedia merchandise via direct mail order. All information contained in mail orders (including postal addresses and checking-account numbers) is kept confidential.

We do not share any personal information (including email addresses) with any third parties, nor do we use any personal information for any purposes other than those noted.

This site contains links to other sites. MISCmedia is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of those sites. (Some of those sites can also have stuff on them that's gross, misspelled, or boring.)

Public Forums

This site makes message boards available to its users. Any information disclosed in these areas becomes public information. Exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information.

When you send a private email to MISCmedia commenting about something on the site, we may want to post your comments on the public message boards. We'll always ask your permission to do this.
